Henan University of Science and Technology (HUST) is situated in the historically and culturally famous city of Luoyang- a modern industrial city. It was originally founded in 1952 and later named Luoyang Institute of Technology. With the approval of the Ministry of Education, the former Luoyang Institute of Technology, Luoyang Medical School and Luoyang Agricultural School amalgamated in the year 2002 and became a university of science and technology, the HUST.

There are 22 schools and departments in HUST, covering 9 major disciplines of engineering, natural science, medical science, agronomy, economics, management, law, literature and history, which contain 62 undergraduate majors and 66 postgraduate programs. HUST has been granted by the Ministry of Education to jointly recruit and train doctoral candidates with other colleges and universities.
